SPORC, BKSDA, Tiger Patrol Unit, caught people who got paid to plant palm trees inside of the Wildlife Reserve Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling, Riau Province, Indonesia (2014).
Wildlife reserve Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling area in Riau Province, Indonesia, is one of the Sumatran Tiger conservation areas remaining on the Sumatra Island. The conservation area is a Sumatran Tigers roaming corridors which are currently shrinking by clearing for plantations, mining, to housing. Palm oil plantations expansion and encroachment are another threat to Sumatran Tigers which are estimated to be only about 400 individuals in Sumatra.
